Firefighter dies in Mo. firehouse

Firefighter Douglas "Doug" Haase, 60, was found dead in his bed at St. Charles Fire Department firehouse having suffered medical emergency

ST. CHARLES, Mo. — A firefighter died at a firehouse in Mo. on Tuesday.

Firefighter Douglas "Doug" Haase, 60, was found dead in his bed at the St. Charles Fire Department firehouse in Mo. having suffered a medical emergency. Firefighter Haase worked for the department for 27 years.

Firefighter Haase's shift was supposed to end at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, but fellow firefighters found him slumped over in his bed, according to STL Today.

Fire department spokesman Dan Casey said Firefighter Haase had no apparent health problems.

"It was a big shock to everybody," Casey said. "He was an all-around good guy."
