On Sunday morning at 07:16 am Salem Fire department was dispatched to a dumpster fire at 677 Cottage St NE.

Upon arrival fire crews called for a second alarm as the fire extended to the building. This brought additional fire units to the scene, to check for fire extension.

The fire was extinguisher in about 10 mins. The exterior of the building sustained damage as well as the roof. One tenant space suffered heat damage. Estimated loss is approximately &25,000.00. No reported injuries.
