On March 11, the Whately (Mass.) Fire Department and other local departments used a donated piece of property for training. Specifically, firefighters from the communities of Whately, Deerfield, South Deerfield, Sunderland and Conway participated in a live-fire training exercise sponsored by the Whately Fire Department. After a safety briefing, crews worked in teams, exercising offensive and defensive attack, ventilation, and overhaul. Multiple live fire evolutions were completed prior to the property's final burn.
