Video: Car explodes in Los Angeles firefighter's face

LOS ANGELES — A firefighter moving in to attack flames at a vehicle fire in Los Angeles got a nasty surprise when contents inside the car exploded in his face on Friday.

Video posted online shows the blast occurring about 15 seconds in, shortly after the firefighter appears to use a hose line to put water on the front and midsection of the car's interior.

Flames larger than previously seen surge from the hood of the car following the explosion.

The firefighter, wearing SCBA, appears to be uninjured and continues to fight the fire.
